This new photography book transects eleven time zones, from the Americas through Europe, on to the Middle East and Asia. The people who bear the genes, who carry the hair, have unique histories. They occupy different political regions. You can lay the transect line across the classroom and record what is directly under each meter or half meter mark on the line (e.g. table, floor, backpack, book, pencil, student). This technique is good for sampling a very large area relatively quickly, but as students often point out, it can miss a lot of information if the area is complex. America Through Time America through Time is a local and regional interest series that showcases the history and heritage of communities around the country. Using modern color photographs juxtaposed with old images, these titles capture a strong sense of the past while demonstrating the force of change through the passage of years.   In celebration of the upcoming CNU Seattle, Public Square is running the series 25 Great Ideas of the New Urbanism. These ideas have been shaped by new urbanists and continue to influence cities, towns, and suburbs. The series is meant to inspire and challenge those working toward complete communities in the next quarter century.

Then along the transects locate plots at 2- to 5-chain intervals. 2. Locate plots at a fixed interval along a transect that runs diagonally through the sample area. To minimize bias, have the transect cross obvious changes in fuels. Before entering the sample area, determine a transect . The PEAT drill sites were located (Figures and ) to achieve an age transect of eastern Pacific sediments within the equatorial region (±2° of the Equator) on the Pacific plate at the time of age of sediments within the equatorial transect span from the early Eocene through the Pliocene, with Paleocene/Eocene and late Miocene to recent intervals being covered by. The book by Buckland et al. () is a comprehensive reference on the application of line and point transects, and should be consulted prior to applying these techniques. They provide numerous examples, and include a chapter on the design of point and line transect surveys.
